Having a penchant for flying, it doesn’t help that I live down the street from Rocky Mountain Metro Airport. Every day, I drive past the helicopters, the fancy business jets, and the line of Cessna Airplanes that I learned to fly over ten years ago. Things don’t normally fall into place as they did today, so it must’ve been meant to be. I needed a break. Our babysitter was available, the airplane was available, and my husband was off doing fun things for himself, so I didn’t even feel guilty! ‘Twas a good day had by all.
On my way to the airport I was thinking it would be really nice to just be taken for a ride… in a nice, sightseeing way, that is! I told the flight club I simply wanted to sit and take photos of the flight, and that I didn’t even want to fly. I’m told instructors love this because they hardly ever get to go on joy-rides on someone else’s dime!
I requested to fly over Boulder, and even though they don’t usually go into Boulder’s airspace, we (okay, my new Instructor friend, Mike Crisler) got permission for a “photo mission.” So off we went in one of McAir’s new, really cool, Light Sport Remos airplane. It was so pretty, and clean! Mike was kind enough to take me for my ride. Below are some of my favorites. I couldn’t leave out Nordstrom at 6,000+ feet
(*and a side note for anyone thinking of flying. Not only is Mike great, but the Light Sport Remos airplane is less expensive than Cessna, and honestly, I think I like it better! Go for it!)
