Then There Were Four.

I could tell the story about the Birds & the Bees.  But I won’t.  I will just tell the Striker-Story.  At least what I know of it.  It started with a cute girl named Michelle, who married a cute guy named Doug.  I know nothing further about what happened next.  I can only speculate how they ended up in the below situation.  They found themselves in the living room of their house, with Michelle ready to pop with Baby Number One:  Elias.

Michelle decided she had better enjoy meditating over what was about to come, & she prepared in peace.  Well.  For all intents & purposes of this photo session. :)

Nursery Rhymes memorized & birthing classes behind her… Elias arrived.

Then he turned 6 months.  As usual, time flew.  And he was a happy, growing boy.

Some time passed.  Everyone became busy.  Then I got the message.  IT happened again.  BELOW, is 6 month old Isaac!!!

Sometimes Elias is serious.  Like every kid with a camera & loud noises, he wasn’t sure what to make of it at first… we got a few shots in, of his pensive side.

And a few more of Isaac while he giggled let us have fun posing him on weird things…

A few more serious shots…

And then it happened.  Elias became a super hero.

My Amelia Actions: A Review

Once in a while people will ask me to review things & sometimes I even get to give the item away as a prize for AIBP Members!.  Because I love playing around in Photoshop & especially with new “Actions,” (or, a quick, animated way of editing/processing photos), I jumped at the chance to try out “My Amelia Actions.” … Overall, I thought they were awesome.  There were a few that stood out to me as unique from any others I have & would like to share them below!  I especially loved that the names of Ashley McErlean’s actions (author of My Amelia Actions) because they feel/look the way they read, so it’s easy to remember which ones you love.  “Chocolate Chip” has a tint of brown/chocolate to it.  “Lace” (below) reminds me of a vintage wedding.  Oh, heck see for yourself.  And go buy them from her!!!

My favorite color action happens to be Lace. 45% opacity.

Another great color action:  Days Gone By

I liked Shelby, too.  It feels old world, with a little color punch plus a touch of noise.

Blue Chiffon, to me, looks exactly how it sounds.  Cool tones with a crisp material feel.

My favorite of My Amelia’s B&W series, is the Cool Black & White.  It’s dark, but not too contrasty.  Different than my usual.

Muted Black & White is fun, too.  It has a  bit of a matte finish.

Serenity is definitely closest to my usual B&W mixture but slightly more contrast.  I love it!

I give My Amelia Actions a THUMBS UP!  There are a ton of different looks, one for every photographer’s brand.

Award Luncheon, Jumped from Car, Signing of Bill… By my handy iPhone.

Today was filled interesting events!  First, my family & two roundtables of her most awesome friends, went to support my sister as she was given a BIG award.  The Denver Business Journal’s “40 Under 40″ top business/philanthropic awards were given out today.   Jessica was one of the recipients.  We are very proud of her, & it was so fun to see everyone she knows… which is pretty much everyone.  She is the Chief Information Officer at the Information Technology (something or other) for the State of Colorado.  Purdy-Cool.

The day started with me, of course not having anything to wear, getting styled by my other sister- Fashionista, Annie.  While she looked like “Heidi,” or a waitress of a fun-family restaurant, she wore her amazing outfit & looked hot!  I love a girl with a crazy outfit & confidence to put anyone to shame!

I personally loved what she put me in as well, & I got to keep it!!!

I did not, however, get to keep the stuart weitzman boots, or Spanx, but that’s okay.  I am sure this grey haring-bone Grecian thing will  look cute paired with my usual flip-flops:-)  Thanks Annie, for taking care of my IMAGE today!  I looked like I had a clue!!!

Annie & her husband had to leave a bit early to go to the Doctor so my mom & I found ourselves a little stranded.  Quite funny actually.  We ended up hitching a ride with my other sister, & her husband…

When suddenly… we were at the corner of the Colorado History Building in Downtown Denver, & my sister said “I was actually going to go watch a bill be signed.  Wanna come?”  SURE!  I said, as we JUMPED out of the car at the intersection.  NO CLUE where I was going, or why.  But it sounded adventurous.  I don’t get out much.  In we slid with her State of Colorado ID & had front row standing room to be up close & personal to this amazing event.

Turns out, we were in the front row of hundreds of people waiting for Governor Hickenlooper to sign a bill to make it LAW, supporting civil unions.  That means, this adorable little boy above, will have the same rights with his two moms, that the rest of us get with our traditional families!  I loved it!!!

It was SO awesome to see all the people & press there to capture this history-making moment!  Thanks for a fun day, Jess!  Oh, & Congrats again:-)  We love you!  (Most of the time)

Sessions in the Studio. April 13.

Modern Twist.

I love these three.  They are so adorably chatty & innocently young, wise & witty at the same time.  We did part of their session outdoors, then finished up inside…where I love the modern take on this hotel.  The aLoft.
